Hit and Run Accident
The power of the accident was really scary. The accident had happened at the PIE (Pan Island Expressway) towards Ang Mo Kio on lane 1 between Yishun Ave 1 entrance and Changi exit on Tuesday, 28th July 2009 at about 6.00pm when car number SFZ4728A side swiped two victims at over 120km/h from the left and speed off.
The two victims were very young . A 18 year old woman, Dahlia Wong, said that they were both so young. One of the victims were a GCE 'A' Level certified student ,18 year old, Mr. Nick Tan and the other one was 20 years old , Mr. Alvin Haw. During the interview, 26 year old, Ms Nichole Lau, an eye-witness and a student said," It happened so fast, I was shocked!" She was also sure she saw two cars. a 40 year old Inspector Mr Abdul Rahman said “ There were streams of blood on the road. I was shocked by what was left of the motorcycle!”
The Commander of the traffic polices, Lin Jun Kai said, “Such accidents are very serious under the law and also strong encourage drivers to drive carefully and pay attention while driving. Concentrate on driving as safety is the first thing to follow.
Bystanders or eye-witnesses are asked to come forward with information on what had happened in the hit-and-run accident. One of the victims, Mr. Nick Tan attended a special school and was the closest to his parents. Mrs. Tan said “I was very hurtful as this accident was very shocking to her.” The other victim, Mr. Alvin Haw was the most pleasant person she had ever met who played basketball every evening with his brothers and friends, said Mrs. Haw.
